Throwback Pictures: 3 Days in South Beach For MTV VMA’s
In 2004 MTV decided to move the VMA’s from it’s longtime home in New York City to Miami. Since my friends and I had been to the the show the previous two years we figured we’d take a long weekend and head down to South Beach for the event - it ended up being one of the best decisions of my life.
Here are some highlights…
- We went to a handful of great parties: Usher’s VMA post party where we took over Usher’s pool side cabana when he left for the night, the Billboard Magazine party which had this crazy ice bar and picked up a ton of free celebrity swag at the Style Villa.
- We had some celebrity encounters. I asked Xzibit to to pimp my life, ripped shots with Jimmy Fallon, sat with Good Charlotte and their crew at the award show itself and drank a Budweiser with Tony Hawk and Johnny Knoxville.
- Probably my favorite part of the weekend was running into our Morristown neighbor Robert Randolph a few times. He’s a cool guy, loves drinking brews and will be going out on tour with Dave Matthews Band this summer so pick up tickets.
